Exercise For Improving Hand And Finger Mobility

Wrist rotation: In this kind of exercise, you have to stretch your arm. After that, the patient needs to point the finger slowly unless the patient feels any kind of a stretch. Then you have to gently pull the raised hand with another hand towards the body and hold on this position for at least 3-5 seconds. Keep on pointing the finger towards the ceiling unless the patient feels any kind of a stretch. After that, the patient also has to raise the hand towards his body with the other side and keep on that position for at least 3-5 seconds. It is essential to repeat the whole process three times.

Prayer position: In this kind of exercise, the patient needs to sit with his palm together as well as your elbow on a table in a prayer position. Then you have to lower the side of the hand towards the table unless the patient feels any kind of a stretch. After that, the patient needs to keep their palm together and hold on that position for at least 5-7 seconds. Then relax in that position and repeat the process three times.

Hooked stretch: This is another simple but very effective hand physiotherapy exercises. In this exercise, the patient has to hook one of his elbows under the other angle and pull both his arms towards the center of the torso. The patient needs to keep on this position until and unless he feels stretch on the shoulder. After that, the patient needs to wrap one of his arms around the other in such a way that the palms are touching to each other. The patient needs to hold on that position for at least 25 seconds. Then you have to switch arms and repeat the same process on the other side.     

Finger stretch: In this kind of exercise, the patient needs to bring his pinky and ring fingers together. After that, the patient needs to separate his middle and index finger from that of the ring finger. The patient needs to repeat the process ten times. Fist opener: In this kind of exercise, the patient has to make a fist and stretch his finger until and unless his hand becomes flat and open. Then you have to keep the fingers together. The patient needs to repeat the process for at least ten times.

Windshield wiper wrist movement: This is another very essential exercise, and the patient needs to face down on the table. Then the patient needs to point the hand to one side and move the wrist. Then the patient needs to hold on that position for 3-5 seconds. Repeat the same process on the other side as well. It is necessary to continue the movement three times on each side. 

Thumb pull: In this kind of exercise, the patient needs to grab his thumb with the other hand. It is necessary to remove the inch of the patient backward very gently and hold on that position for at least 25 seconds. Repeat the whole process on the other thumb.

Flower stretch: In this exercise, you have to stretch the arms with the back of hand and wrist. Then the patient needs to pull the finger further from the body until and unless the patient feels stretch. The patient has to hold it in the same position for at least 25 seconds.    

Sponge squeeze: This is another very practical physiotherapy exercises for hand pain. In this exercise, the patient needs to squeeze a sponge ball. It is necessary to make a fist and needs to hold the position for at least 10 seconds.
